Environmental Management

Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport is in the process of developing an Environmental Management System (EMS) to reinforce environmental programs. The EMS will outline a series of guidelines, policies, procedures and processes that address environmental impacts in day-to-day business activities. (POLICY IMPLEMENTATION LETTER – 1/16/07)

Environmental Policy

The Maryland Aviation Administration, which operates BWI Airport, is committed to protecting the airport's environment. The purpose of our environmental policy is to support the MAA objectives, vision and mission; to support the Maryland Department of Transportations goals with participation in the state-wide initiative; and to safeguard and enhance the public’s investment in the airport.
