Environmentally Relevant Tenant Directives

One method of ensuring compliance with environmental regulations is through the MAA’s tenant directive program. Tenant directives contain information on requirements for tenants in association with various activities at both BWI Marshall and Martin State Airports. To date, the MAA has issued tenant directives to address items such as:

  • Trash disposal
  • Aircraft and vehicle washing
  • Fueling
  • Deicing
  • Fuel /oil and hazardous material spill procedures
  • Drum/container markings, storage, disposal
  • Procedures
  • Storage tank use

The MAA’s Environmental Compliance section inspects tenant-operated airport facilities monthly to ensure compliance with tenant directives.
